HSOTD!

"Pin-Up"
OK, OK so I was attempting a pin-up look here but it didn't go as planned BUT it still looks really cute.
All I did was a braid out of about 8 braids using MIZANI Butter Rich to moisturize and seal the ends.
In the morning I took down the braids and used bobby pins to pull my hair into a semi-ponytail.

The front section is kinda what threw everything off. I kept my twists in from a few days ago but they lost some curl and looked limp, even after I pinned them back into this bouffant-looking thing. lol

Overall it was a cute style, if I wear it again I'm going to tweak the front section just a bit....

HSOTD...Hair Style of the day!

 "Lazy Hair Day twists"
Creating these twists was pretty easy...not gonna lie.

1. Section off a medium (or large)-sized portion of hair at the front of your head. (I always think of it as if I'm making a bouffant or "hump" at the front of my head.) Pull the rest of your hair back and out of the way.

2. If your hair is not already detangled and dampened now would be a great time to do so.

3. From the section you just made, make another section at the left or right "corner" of the section. Make this into smaller pieces of hair and create any number of two-strand twists that you would like. Set these twists away from the rest of the hair.

 4. Now, part the rest of the hair in two sections. Create two flat twists using these sections.

5. Once you've completed both twists, twist them together to make a giant twist, incorporating the section of two-strand twists that you created. Just pin it to the side with a few bobby pins and...Fin!

So...how do you like it? It's pretty simple. All I did was put the rest of my hair in a puff and that was the extent of my hairstyling today.

My Hair

My natural hair journey began back when I was a junior in high school, nearly two years ago. I went natural by accident, you could say. I had been wearing micro braids and kinky twists for a while out of pure laziness and not wanting to do my hair. When I took down my kinky twist the summer before senior year my new-growth was ridiculous! I had no idea what to do so I talked to my mom who had gone natural a few years before. She encouraged me to go natural but I was left with the final decision. So I logged on to the World Wide Web and the journey began.
My eyes were opened and my natural hair blog obsession took over my life! I was intrigued by my hair and I constantly tried new styles like twist-outs, bantu knots, roller sets and braid-outs. You name it, I probably did it within my first 2 or 3 months being natural.
Yet, my journey is not over; I want to take my hair and lifestyle to new heights and help others do the same. Are you ready for your hair journey?

Me!

So this is me, Liv. I'm a freshman in college, just trying to get by in this crazy thing called life. A new friend of mine suggested I do a blog on natural hair. Heck, a read enough of them I should know all about how to do this, right? Well, we'll have to see about that one. Stick with me, I promise I know what I'm talking about and if I don't, educate me.
